Intention-Setting Worksheet

YogaHub - Intention-Setting Worksheet

What you think you become. Now is the time to lay your foundation.

Listing your values can help guide intentions. Values are long-term pillars of importance in your life (relationships, career, knowledge, home, etc.) List your values and circle your top 3.

Intentions are heart-driven. They should be positive and present, bringing your heart and mind into alignment.

An important thing to remember is that intentions are not goals. Goals are externally focused: something that you expect or want. Goals are future-oriented, whereas intentions are present and internally focused. With intention-setting:

  • You state how you intend to feel right now

  • You put the power of change in your own hands.

  • You develop the ability to create an immediate shift.

Here’s an example: say your heart craves abundance but your mind is focusing on a missing paycheck. Your intention should emphasize a different way in which you are abundant. Your intention might be: “I am abundant in love and healthy relationships that bring me joy.”

Your mantra is a single word or short phrase that encompasses your values and intention; something that you can easily repeat to yourself in meditation or in the back of your mind.
